Mental Health and Performance Coaching
Mental health and performance coaching is a specialised form of coaching that blends principles from psychology, personal development, and high-performance training. Its primary aim is to help individuals improve their mental well-being while also enhancing their performance in personal, academic, or professional areas.
Mental Health Coaching
Focuses on:
-
Emotional regulation – learning to manage stress, anxiety, and mood.
-
Building resilience – developing coping strategies and mental toughness.
-
Improving self-awareness – understanding personal triggers, habits, and thought patterns.
-
Life balance – establishing healthy routines and boundaries.
Note: Mental health coaches are not therapists. They do not treat clinical disorders (e.g., major depression, PTSD), but they can support overall well-being and collaborate with therapists if needed.
Performance Coaching
Focuses on:
-
Goal-setting and achievement – helping clients set clear, actionable goals.
-
Motivation and mindset – overcoming procrastination and developing a growth mindset.
-
Productivity and focus – improving time management and reducing distractions.

What to expect

1
Initial Session
Your initial session is all about you. You can have this session online, by phone, at your workplace, a nearby park or at a place that is comfortable to you. Aaron will facilitate a discussion that will make you feel heard as he gathers the information required to create an effective coaching plan suited to your needs. You may be asked to complete a short survey to ensure your coaching plan is data informed.
2
Session Structure
The location and timing of your sessions will be agreed to after the initial session. Depending on your needs, coaching sessions are structured in a way that you can discuss current issues and concerns. You will have time focused on learning and skill development as we work towards our specific goals then we finish with thinking ahead and preparation of future events. Most sessions are approx. 50mins.
3
Change The Plan
When you succeed at achieving the goals set out in the initial session we can re-evaluate. You can choose to end the service, reduce the frequency of sessions or work towards a new goal. In the rare event we haven't achieved the outcomes we wanted to we will review the barriers to success and determine what form of support you require.
